Chloe Tyson

GP/Primary Care Physician

Dr Chloe grew up in Northern NSW before moving to Queensland for her undergraduate studies in Law and Commerce. She worked for a little while in the corporate world before realising she was more interested in a career in medicine. Dr. Chloe is aligned with a functional medicine approach to General Practice, which focuses on personalised solutions for each patient that are holistic and attempt to address the root cause of the issue. Functional medicine approaches also have a strong emphasis on prevention of disease and incorporation of lifestyle factors, such as diet, sleep, physical activity, minimisation of harmful substances, mental wellbeing, and social connection. To support her interest in functional medicine, Dr. Chloe just completed her Accreditation in Lifestyle Medicine (AALM) and is currently working towards her fellowship to the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM) and the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) (US-based). Dr Chloe also works as a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland where she has been undertaking research into safe antidepressant deprescribing. If you have considered tapering your antidepressant or prefer a holistic approach to mental health concerns Dr Chloe is happy to assist.
